IPKarting has implemented Autodesk softwares to create high-performance vehicles.

IPKarting was founded in 1907 as an automobile company and became one of the most important international karting companies in 2011, at the forefront of innovative technological solutions. IPK produces Praga, OK1, FormulaK, and RS branded karts.

For IPK, design plays a primary role in creating high-performance products. For this reason, the technical department uses 3D software to create the parts to be produced. 3D technologies also allow for any product imperfections to be identified even before prototypes are produced.

We interviewed Daniel Sliva, CEO, and Cesare Gastaldelli, Head of IPK Technical Department.

The digital challenge

FeatureCAM uses production information to make intelligent decisions, produce immediate results, and eliminate repetitive processes. Manufacturers can standardize optimal procedures and quality standards, as well as promote repeatability among all employees using the same configuration.

The results

Cesare tells us: “We were able to bring back more than 30% of the mechanical work that we used to have done externally.”

The technical manager concludes: “For the future, we intend to implement generative design technologies with the aim of producing more efficient and lighter parts.”
