3D technologies enable Liu Jo to reduce prototyping time and improve communication between departments.
The brainchild of Marco and Vannis Marchi, Liu Jo launched its first product lines in 1995.
In the years that followed, the brand diversified its market by introducing lines of bags, accessories and jeans.
Choosing Kate Moss as ambassador has contributed to making the brand image increasingly international.
Alongside promotional campaigns celebrating its Italian origins, Liu Jo has chosen to go green, reducing wastage of resources in its production processes and using certified recycled materials.
We interviewed Annesa Spalla, Patterns Department Manager and Co-ordinator, and Mirka Pesce, Liu Jo Garment Technician.

"Liu Jo's expansion in both clothing and accessories has forged an important historical path. Nowadays, thanks to the use of CLO, this growth has become much more extensive." States Annesa Spalla.
Thanks to the CLO3D software, feedback can be collected before the garment is produced, and this increases cooperation between the various departments.
"First the 3D model is created, visualised together with the Style Department, and the fit is checked. This means that the first prototype is likely to be a very good fit, thereby avoiding unnecessary wastage.” Annesa Spalla continues.
“What convinced us about this 3D modelling system was, first and foremost, our desire to evolve from a technological point of view. But we also viewed it as a means to increase our professional competences and skills,” says Mirka Pesce.
CLO makes it possible to work in 2D and 3D at one and the same time, making changes in real time, reducing development time and costs as a result.
"CLO has enabled us from the outset to reduce prototyping times, making relationships in the various departments much more flexible, and generally improving cooperation." Concludes Mirka Pesce.
