Design and production software enables Hammer to reorganise all its production processes

Hammer is a company that designs and manufactures accessories and components for aluminium windows and doors. Hammer started its business in 1972, manufacturing handles and furniture accessories. It then began to design and produce hinges and joints. In 2006, the company expanded and launched its own brand of ultra-high-strength shutter accessories.

The digital challenge

"We adopted 3D technology more than 10 years ago, through the use of Autodesk Inventor, for the designing of our products. “

“Hammer handles a large number of products per year: we produce more than 4 million parts and - between semi-finished and finished products - we manage more than 10,000 product codes. This is because we are strongly oriented towards product personalisation. Such a large amount of information and data required the implementation of 3D technologies to improve the flow between the technical department and production.”

"In Prisma Tech, we found a partner who was willing to listen carefully to our needs and guide us through the software selection process."

The solution

"We chose Prisma Tech as a partner because of its high technical competence and added value in terms of customer relations. We found a partner who was willing to listen carefully to our needs and guide us through the software selection process.”

The results

3D design with parametric software has improved and reduced project development time.

FeatureCAM has enabled us to considerably improve the programming of our CNC machines, thereby cutting the time it takes to put products into production.

Specifically, the integration between the software solutions can be seen, for example, with the use of Fusion 360, which enables the production departments to step in and correct any minor anomalies that may exist in the original files.

With regard to the future, we are planning the integration of FeatureCAM with the PDM Vault software and a total reorganisation of production processes in the light of Industry 4.0.
